I Wanted to Say Thank You

Somehow, 'thank you' always comes too late. You probably were just being you, but back then, one sentence from you was enough to get me through the day. I laughed it off like it was nothing, but on the way home that day, my heart finally unclenched. We live different lives now, but one thing is true: because of you, I became a slightly better person.
